Seeing

Once upon a time, I was in the front seat of a car on a long trip without much to do, so I tried staring out at the road to see if I could see it without using concepts – “tree,” “shadow,” etc. I mostly failed, but about halfway through my perception did shift suddenly. I suddenly saw – the windshield.
